Friends of the Old Pier

The Birnbeck Regeneration Trust works in partnership with the Friends of the Old Pier Society, its sister organisation, to raise funds for the main aim of regenerating Birnbeck Pier. The Friends of the Old Pier Society is a not-for-profit organization, formed in 1996. The Friends' objective is now to be able to help take the pier into 'Trust' status in the fairly near future; and then to see it restored to its former glory. Its main base of operations was Pier View but it has fallen into decay and stopped being used due to duel factors of COVID and and its condition. We are awaiting to see how the CPO process develops to plan a way to return to operations on the promenade.

All members receive a regular regular newsletter, as well as gaining the opportunity to get more involved in the campaign if they wish to do so. In particular, volunteers who are willing to help run Pier View and assist with external fundraising activities are especially welcomed!

The Friends of the Old Pier Society has its own dedicated website. You can join the Society there - they have an online registration and payment system (via Paypal) on their Contact Page
