Terms and Conditions
- The full cost is payable in advance once your request has been agreed and will be fitted to the pier within 1 year of the bridge opening.
- All plaques are the property of the Trust and will be on display to the general public.
- The exact location in which the plaque will be placed at the site is determined by the Trust and particular locations cannot be guaranteed.
- Plaques will be installed within areas only where space allows on the Pier.
- The plaques have a limited life and the Trust cannot guarantee the long term safety or security of the plaque and it is not responsible for the replacement of any plaque as a result of damage, deterioration with age or vandalism. The Trust may also have to remove plaques for the same reasons and these would not be replaced.
- The Trust may remove or re- site any plaque to accommodate the improvement of an area of the Pier for the benefit of its visitors.
- After a period of 10 years the Trust reserves the right to remove the plaque and offer the location to a new donor.
- The Trust will not be liable for any cleaning or maintenance of the plaque.
- To preserve the public nature of the Pier the use of the plaque as a memorial is not allowed and as such flowers and other memorial items placed will be removed.
- Only one standard sized plaque is allowed, this can be replaced on payment of the appropriate fee.
- The cost to buy a plaque does not include free access to the pier or its grounds. this will be chargeable at the current rate.
- All wording will be reviewed by the Trust and may be refused with no reason given.
- Names of donors and text for the plaque will be displayed on the Trusts website, in buying a plaque you consent to this.
- The Trust will not be liable for any theft of the plaque when fitted to a plank.
- There will be a limited number of single plaques on planks with 470 available the remainder will be planks for 4 plaques.
- Benches will be limited to 404 separate benches with 1 plaque in each.
- All plaques purchased under the original Lay Brothers scheme will be honoured.
